NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Areas affected...eastern Nebraska into western Iowa

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 208...

Valid 122312Z - 130015Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 208
continues.

SUMMARY...A line of storms with severe winds will persist as it
moves northeast through the evening.

DISCUSSION...As a line of storms has moved from Hastings toward
Omaha, there have been consistent reports of measured 60 to 75 mph
winds. The environment ahead of this line remains favorable for
severe winds with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. In fact,
dewpoint spreads and wind speeds suggest the airmass is deeply mixed
across eastern Nebraska which may further support the severe wind
threat over the next hour.

KOAX reflectivity shows the outflow boundary ahead of the activity,
but additional development has recently started to occur along and
ahead of this outflow boundary. This should continue to reinforce
the already very strong cold pool (mid 60s F) and support the
damaging wind threat, even if the outflow boundary continues to
outpace the convection.
