The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far Southeast New Mexico
West Texas
* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 325 PM until
1100 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter likely
SUMMARY...Numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to
develop within the very unstable air mass over the southern High
Plains. Large to very large hail is possible with early storm
development, with a transient towards more of a wind damage risk
with time.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 85
statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles south of Dryden
TX to 40 miles north northeast of Plainview TX. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
