Mesoscale Discussion 0670
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0542 AM CDT Fri May 06 2022

Areas affected...Portions of the FL Panhandle...southeastern
AL...and far southwestern GA

Concerning...Severe potential...Watch unlikely

Valid 061042Z - 061215Z

Probability of Watch Issuance...5 percent

SUMMARY...A line of thunderstorms may continue to produce isolated
strong/gusty winds as it moves eastward this morning. Watch issuance
is not expected.

DISCUSSION...A convective cluster has persisted this morning into
parts of the FL Panhandle and southern AL. Measured wind gusts
associated with this activity have generally remained in the 35-55
mph range over the past couple of hours. The airmass ahead of the
line may remain marginally favorable for severe convective gusts to
reach the surface for the next hour or two, and isolated
strong/gusty winds may be capable of producing occasional tree
damage. Still, gradual weakening is anticipated beyond 12Z as these
thunderstorms encounter weaker instability and greater convective
inhibition with eastward extent into the FL Panhandle ad
southwestern GA. Accordingly, watch issuance is not expected.
