Kesha announces new album, . (yes, that's the title)

[html]Kesha also shared a new single, "Yippee-Ki-Yay" with T-Pain ahead of the album's July 4 release.

You either “Die Young” or live to see yourself record an auto-tuned country song with T-Pain. Luckily for all of us (but especially DJs at line dancing bars), the two aughts icons opted for door number two. The pair just released “Yippee-Ki-Yay,” which sounds like exactly what you’d expect from a Kesha/T-Pain country song. It’s not quite as fun as previous single “Joyride,” but this writer wouldn’t be mad to hear it at a bar this summer either—preferably while someone does a Jell-O shot in the corner. Spiritually, that’s what this track deserves.

“Yippee-Ki-Yay” will appear on Kesha‘s newly announced and incredibly unsearchable album, . (PERIOD). Yes, . (PERIOD) is the album’s real name. It would appear that no one taught Kesha about the value of SEO, but she went through a hell of a lot to gain “100%… control of everything” regarding the record, her first since the conclusion of her lengthy and brutal legal battle with former producer Dr. Luke, so she kind of gets a blank check on this one. Speaking to Paper in July, Kesha said . feels “like it’s my first album.” It’s also the first she’s releasing on her own independent label, Kesha Records, which she founded last year.

. (PERIOD) “feels like it stands for a lot,” the artist continued in her Paper interview. “It’s maybe the most beautiful time of my entire life! I am so excited, I got to work with the people I did and capture this moment in time, and put it onto something other people can listen to. It’s been deeply life-changing and profound to make this album, but it’s also the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. If you thought Animal was fun, just fucking wait.” This writer did, and she can’t.
