NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Areas affected...Central and Eastern Kentucky...Northern Tennessee

Concerning...Tornado Watch 125...

Valid 140041Z - 140145Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 125 continues.

SUMMARY...A wind-damage threat is expected to continue across parts
of central Kentucky and northern Tennessee over the next couple of
hours. Although the severe threat may beco*e more isolated with
time, parts of eastern Kentucky and northeast Tennessee may be
affected.

DISCUSSION...The latest radar imagery from the Louisville 88D shows
a north-to-south severe line segment across central Kentucky. This
line was located along the northern end of an axis of weak
instability, where the RAP has MLCAPE around 500 J/kg. Along the
line, surface dewpoints are in the lower 60s F. However, low-level
moisture and instability drop off sharply a few counties to the east
of the line. This should result in the severe threat beco*e more
isolated as the line approaches the western foothills of the
Appalachians in eastern Kentucky. Still, wind damage will be
possible and weather watch issuance will still need to be
considered.
