The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
North Central Iowa
South Central Minnesota
* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 510 PM until
1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Several tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes likely
Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter likely
Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to intensify rapidly this
afternoon and early evening over northern Iowa, and track northward
into southern Minnesota. Supercell storms capable of very large
hail and a few tornadoes may occur. Strong tornadoes are possible.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles
east and west of a line from 35 miles north northeast of Fairmont MN
to 40 miles south southwest of Fort Dodge IA. For a co*plete

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
