Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 367

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Georgia
  Southern South Carolina
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 1220 PM until
  800 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph likely

SUMMARY...The remnants of last night's Appalachians-crossing MCS
will influence strong to severe south/southwestward-moving
thunderstorm development across the region within a very
moist/unstable air mass. Bouts of downbursts/wind damage are the
primary hazard.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles north of
Columbus GA to 75 miles south of Charleston SC. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 55 knots. A few
cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean storm motion vector
