...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR PARTS OF THE
OHIO VALLEY INTO THE ADJACENT APPALACHIANS...AND ALSO ACROSS
NORTHERN AL...
...SUMMARY...
Scattered severe thunderstorms will persist across parts of the Ohio
Valley this evening, with a threat of locally damaging wind and a
couple of tornadoes. Storms capable of locally damaging wind will
also be possible across portions of northern Alabama.
...OH Valley into Mid Atlantic/Northeast...
Scattered small supercells and bowing segments are ongoing across
parts of the OH Valley this evening, in association with an
eastward-moving shortwave trough and surface low. These storms will
continue to pose a threat of locally damaging wind and a couple of
tornadoes, especially near a warm front that is slowly moving
northward in advance of the surface low. Some threat of locally
damaging wind and a brief tornado may persist into late tonight into
parts of the Mid Atlantic/Northeast, in conjunction with the surface
low and warm front. The Marginal Risk has been expanded slightly to
cover a larger portion of southern PA into NJ, based on the latest
short-term guidance regarding the northward advance of the warm
front.
...Southeast...
A cluster of storms is ongoing across northern AL is expected to
gradually weaken with time this evening, but moderate instability
and modest low/midlevel flow may continue to support a localized
damaging wind threat for a few hours this evening as the storms move
eastward toward northern GA.
