The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Southeastern Montana
  Western South Dakota
  Northeastern Wyoming

* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 225 PM until
  900 PM MDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
    mph possible
  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...High-based thunderstorms are expected to increase in
coverage and intensity during the next few hours as convection
spreads northeastward from northeastern Wyoming toward southeastern
Montana and western South Dakota.  Severe wind gusts of 60-75 mph
appear to be the main threat with clusters and line segments, and
isolated large hail near 1.5 inches in diameter may also occur with
any of the stronger embedded/supercell storms.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles northwest of
Buffalo SD to 75 miles south of Rapid City SD. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A
few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean storm motion vector
24035.
