The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  North-central Kansas
  Central and Eastern Nebraska

* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 215 PM until
  900 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Widespread damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
    to 80 mph possible
  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events
    to 2 inches in diameter possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...An increasing organized and fast-moving line of storms
will continue northeastward across central/eastern Nebraska this
afternoon, with additional storms across north-central Kansas.
Damaging winds, which could include locally significant
winds/damage, and large hail are the primary hazards. Of note, a
secondary round of storms could occur later this afternoon/early
evening with development along the cold front.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles northeast of
Oneill NE to 45 miles west southwest of Concordia KS. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 70 knots. A
few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean storm motion vector
