Day 1 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0757 PM CDT Mon Apr 25 2022

Valid 260100Z - 261200Z

...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MOST OF
DEEP SOUTH TEXAS...

...SUMMARY...
Local risk for large hail and perhaps a damaging gust will continue
over south Texas this evening.

...Discussion...
A broken band of showers and thunderstorms continues ahead of the
surface cold front, from the lower Great Lakes region to south
Texas.  Convection continues to weaken from the western Gulf of
Mexico northeastward, and therefore the MRGL risk area is being
removed at this time.

Meanwhile, over deep South Texas, a cluster of multicells and
occasional supercells is ongoing, within a moderately unstable
environment featuring modest but sufficient shear for rotating
updrafts.  While greatest risk for large hail is expected this
evening, some risk will likely linger across this area through the
end of the period.
