Day 1 Convective Outlook

Valid 130100Z - 131200Z
...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR PARTS OF THE
MID ATLANTIC AND ARIZONA...
...SUMMARY...
Storms capable of isolated damaging wind gusts will remain possible
through the evening across parts of the Mid Atlantic. Isolated
severe gusts and hail are also possible across parts of Arizona.
...Arizona...
Widely scattered strong/potentially severe storms are ongoing early
this evening across parts of Arizona. Moderate buoyancy and modest
deep-layer shear (as noted on the 00Z PHX sounding) will continue to
support a threat of isolated severe wind/hail into mid/late evening,
before nocturnal cooling/stabilization results in decreasing storm
coverage and intensity later tonight.
...Mid Atlantic...
Clusters of convection may persist into the late evening across
parts of PA into the Mid Atlantic into eastern NC, though storm
intensity has thus far been relatively limited, and substantial
intensification does not appear likely tonight. Weak-to-moderate
buoyancy and moderate effective shear will continue to support
occasional storm organization through the evening, with a primary
threat of isolated damaging wind gusts and perhaps some small hail.
