NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Areas affected...Lower Michigan

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 528...

Valid 291956Z - 292200Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 528
continues.

SUMMARY...A few severe gusts remain possible across much of Lower
Michigan, and a new watch may be needed for eastern areas.

DISCUSSION...A robust line of storms continues to push east across
western Lower MI, and is expected to remain strong to severe with
wind damage potential through the afternoon. A gust to 57 kt was
measured recently at KBIV, and 50 kt at KGRR. MLCAPE of 2000-3000
J/kg with PWAT over 1.50", continued heating and 30+ kt mean wind
speeds in the low to mid levels will all favor a continued severe
threat with the squall line as it moves out of watch 528. As such, a
new watch may be required prior to 21Z.
