Areas affected...Parts of southeastern LA...southern MS...and
southwestern AL

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 137...138...

Valid 180101Z - 180230Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 137, 138
continues.

SUMMARY...The risk of damaging outflow winds will continue spreading
southward across southeastern LA, southern MS, and southwestern AL
this evening.

DISCUSSION...Latest mosaic radar imagery shows an organizing MCS
moving southward across southern MS, while a few supercell
structures remain evident along the leading edge of the outflow
boundary. South of the MCS, light southerly winds and dewpoints in
the upper 60s/lower 70s will continue to support surface-based
inflow, while the MOB VWP shows 0-6km bulk shear of 50 knots.
Generally deep westerly flow parallel to the leading edge gust front
of the MCS should continue to favor upscale growth and a primary
risk of damaging outflow winds. However, any north-south oriented
segments of the line could favor a localized risk of a brief
embedded tornado owing to favorable low-level shear near 30 knots.
