Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook

Valid 071200Z - 081200Z

An Isolated Dry Thunderstorm risk has been introduced for parts of
far northeastern CA into southern OR. Latest CAMs show a consistent
signal for isolated, high-based convection Sunday afternoon within a
weak forcing regime. Corresponding forecast soundings show deep, dry
sub-cloud layers with slim CAPE profiles favorable for dry
thunderstorms, though PWAT values near 0.8 inch will may favor a mix
of wet/dry storms. However, given the dry fuel status, a
lightning-driven fire weather concern appears probable.

...Synopsis...
A mid-level short-wave trough positioned over the northern Plains
will shift east throughout the day into the Great Lakes region while
de-amplifying/weakening. Elsewhere, generally light mid- to
upper-level flow will be present as high pressure continues to
dominate much of the interior CONUS. Consequently, fire-weather
concerns arising from wind/RH conditions remain low.

Some potential exists for isolated dry thunderstorm activity across
portions of southern Oregon, however, coverage remains too uncertain
to introduce highlights at this time.
