Disney offers chance to catch up on Andor via Hulu or YouTube

Andor is almost back for season 2, and Disney really wants to turn you from a person who “heard that’s really good, actually” to someone who says “I thought Andor was actually pretty solid.” Their latest method of doing this is by allowing us to watch some episodes on Hulu (which Disney also owns) and YouTube (which they do not).
The co*pany announced this morning that starting today, the entire first season of Andor is now streaming on Hulu and the first three episodes are available for free on YouTube. Of course, Disney probably hopes that these tastes of Andor will be enough of a tease to get you to sign up for Disney+ in time for the second season’s premiere, but this admittedly is a pretty good way to achieve that. Disney has also shared a 14-minute season one recap, and on Thursday, it will run “Andor Season 1 with Tony Gilroy,” which is described as “a live re-watch event on YouTube with select talent,” according to a press release.
While Disney’s Star Wars output has been, to put it mildly, varied, Andor seems to be the one segment of the franchise that has received the most consistent acclaim. The first season earned a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series and has managed to maintain its hype for what is nearly a Severance-length hiatus. The new season will be 12 episodes long, broken into four chapters of three episodes each. The first chapter premieres on April 22, with each chapter premiering weekly thereafter.
