Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 482

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Southern Arkansas

* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 440 PM until
  1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Multicell storm clusters will likely persist through late
evening while spreading east-southeastward across southern Arkansas.
 Occasional downburst winds of 60-70 mph appear to be the main
threat.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 25
statute miles north and south of a line from 70 miles west southwest
of Pine Bluff AR to 40 miles east northeast of Monticello AR. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
