Areas affected...southeastern Montana into southwestern North Dakota
and northwestern South Dakota

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 435...

Valid 051126Z - 051330Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 435
continues.

SUMMARY...A few severe storms continue moving eastward across WW
435, where locally damaging wind gusts and large hail remain
possible.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar loop shows scattered strong/isolated
severe storms moving eastward across southeastern Montana and
adjacent parts of the western North Dakota/South Dakota border area.

The environment across this region remains moderately unstable per
recent RAP-based objective analysis, with storms occurring on the
north edge of an axis of 1000 to 2000 J/kg mixed-layer CAPE.  With
low-level easterly flow across the area, just to the north side of
the surface front, beneath 50 kt mid-level west-southwesterlies,
shear continues to support organized/long-lived storms.  Attendant
risks for damaging winds and large hail will continue locally, over
at least the next couple of hours.
