The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 411, 412
continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Severe Thunderstorm
Watches 411-412. Large hail and damaging gusts may acco*pany the
stronger storms along and ahead of a cold front over the next few
hours.

DISCUSSION...Semi-discrete multicellular/transient supercellular
storms continue to pulse in intensity, both with storms immediately
along the cold front in northwest WI, as well as with storms located
within a broad band of confluence ahead of the front in west-central
WI. MRMS mosaic MESH radar data has suggested the presence of hail
approaching 1 inch in diameter with some of the more persistent
updrafts. Storms have generally struggled to maintain any
appreciable vigor thus far. Visible satellite data shows widespread
clouds preceding the storms across central into east-central WI,
which has limited buoyancy for a more robust severe threat.
Nonetheless, surface temperatures remain in the low to mid 80s F
across portions of western WI, where enough deep moist convergence
will continue to support developing storms for the next few hours.
Should more persistent, intense updrafts develop, steep low-level
lapse rates may support a damaging gust threat, in addition to an
instance or two of large hail.
