The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Eastern Kentucky
  Small part of extreme southern Ohio
  Western and southwestern Virginia
  Southern West Virginia

* Effective this Wednesday night from 615 PM until Midnight EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Loosely organized thunderstorm bands and small multicell
clusters should move southeastward through the watch area the
remainder of the afternoon and into the evening, before weakening
near the southern fringe of the watch.  In the meantime, the
environment will favor mainly damaging to locally severe gusts,
especially on relatively exposed/northwest-facing slopes and open
areas, as well as isolated severe hail.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50
statute miles either side of a line from 40 miles west northwest of
London KY to 40 miles northeast of Beckley WV. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
