Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0142 PM CDT Sun Jun 19 2022
Valid 201200Z - 211200Z
...NO CRITICAL AREAS...
The previous forecast remains on track. Latest guidance continues to
show the potential for elevated to locally critical fire weather
conditions from eastern WY into adjacent areas of northeast CO and
western NE. However, fuel reports from the region continue to
indicate that, in general, fuels are only marginally receptive
(though a few drier pockets are noted along the WY/NE border).
Additionally, most solutions maintain at least light precipitation
across the region over the next 12-24 hours, which may further limit
fuel status. Trends in fuels and rainfall will continue to be
monitored and highlights may be introduced if conditions trend drier
than currently forecast.

...Synopsis...
An upper-level trough will pivot through the central Rockies on
Monday. A cold front will move eastward into the Plains by late
afternoon. With high pressure setting up west of the Divide and a
surface trough to the east, areas of stronger downslope winds are
possible in the lee of the central Rockies. Parts of north-central
Colorado into southeastern Wyoming appear to have the greatest
potential for winds of 15-20 mph with of 15-20%. There will at least
be risk for locally elevated conditions in the immediate lee of the
terrain given the stronger east-west pressure gradient. However,
potential for rainfall on Sunday keeps confidence low in a broader
risk area developing. Trends in guidance and observations will
continue to be monitored.
