The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Central and northern Kansas
Extreme south central Nebraska
* Effective this Tuesday evening from 635 PM until 1100 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
SUMMARY...Scattered, surface-based thunderstorms are forming along a
slow-moving front, and these storms should increase in
coverage/intensity this evening. Occasional large hail of 1.5 to 2
inches in diameter and severe outflow gusts of 60-70 mph will be
possible with the strongest storms through late evening.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 35
statute miles north and south of a line from 75 miles west southwest
of Russell KS to 35 miles north northeast of Concordia KS. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
