The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Northern Minnesota
* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 340 PM until
1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...At least isolated severe thunderstorms are expected near a
surface low and northward-shifting warm front across northern
Minnesota. A few supercell storms are possible, with large hail and
damaging winds as the primary hazards, although a tornado could also
occur.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90
statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles east northeast
of Warroad MN to 40 miles south of Bemidji MN. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
