The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
South central South Dakota
* Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 1015 PM
until 200 AM MDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Ongoing bowing segments and supercells across southwest
South Dakota will persist for a few more hours while posing a threat
for severe outflow gusts up to 75 mph, and large hail up to 1.5
inches in diameter.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles west southwest
of Philip SD to 55 miles southeast of Pierre SD. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
