Some slight expansions of the isolated dry thunderstorm area were
made where confidence has increased in isolated storm coverage, and
where fuels are critically receptive to lightning-induced fire
ignitions. Locally Elevated conditions are also likely across
portions of the Great Basin into the Lower Colorado Basin by
afternoon peak heating. Elevated highlights have been withheld since
the drier and windier conditions should be confined to mainly
terrain-favoring areas.

...Synopsis...
The primary fire-weather concern will continue to be isolated dry
thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest and southern/central
Rockies, where extremely dry fuels remain in place. As high-based
storms develop over the higher terrain during the afternoon hours,
very limited precipitation amid a hot/deeply-mixed boundary layer
will allow for isolated lightning-induced ignitions over parts of NM
and AZ.
