The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Southern into east central Oklahoma
Northwest Texas
* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 935 PM
until 400 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter likely
SUMMARY...Earlier supercells will slowly congeal into clusters and
line segments along a slow-moving front across Oklahoma, while more
isolated storms farther south in northwest Texas persist for another
couple of hours before weakening. There will be a threat for
tornadoes, and an isolated strong tornado in the short term, with
lingering supercells and circulations embedded in the developing
clusters/line segments. Otherwise, the threat for large hail will
persist overnight, and the threat for damaging winds should increase
over the next few hours.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles
north and south of a line from 65 miles southwest of Altus OK to 15
miles north northeast of Poteau OK. For a co*plete depiction of the

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.
