The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Western and Central Arkansas
  Eastern Oklahoma

* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 525 PM until
  1100 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A couple tornadoes possible
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Storms, including supercells, will continue to develop and
likely intensify in vicinity of a modifying boundary from eastern
Oklahoma into western/central Arkansas. Large hail and damaging
winds will be possible, at least on an isolated basis. Tornado
potential will also exist with storms along the boundary and as the
low-level jet intensifies toward/after sunset.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles
north and south of a line from 45 miles west northwest of Poteau OK
to 50 miles east northeast of Hot Springs AR. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

surface and aloft to 2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
