The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Southern Kansas
  Northern and Central Oklahoma

* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 200 PM until
  1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Several tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes likely
  Widespread large hail expected with isolated very large hail
    events to 3 inches in diameter likely
  Widespread damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80
    mph likely

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are beginning to form in northwest Oklahoma
and southwest Kansas.  These storms will track eastward across the
watch area this afternoon and evening, posing a risk of tornadoes
(some strong) and very large hail.  Storms will beco*e more numerous
by late this afternoon with an increasing threat of widespread
damaging winds.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 85 statute miles
north and south of a line from 50 miles west southwest of Alva OK to
35 miles northeast of Muskogee OK. For a co*plete depiction of the

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 70 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
storm motion vector 27030.
