Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0200 PM CDT Mon Aug 22 2022

Valid 231200Z - 241200Z

...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

The previous forecast (see below) remains on track, and no changes
were made with this update. While isolated dry thunderstorms will be
possible over parts of northwest WY into far southwest MT along the
periphery of deeper monsoonal moisture (0.60-0.75 inch PW), fuels
are generally less receptive to ignitions here -- precluding Dry
Thunderstorm highlights.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 0203 AM CDT Mon Aug 22 2022/

...Synopsis...
Broad cyclonic upper-level flow on Tuesday over eastern Canada and
the United States will impede the eastward progression of a
shortwave trough over the Pacific Northwest.  This relatively
stationary feature will likely lead to thunderstorm development
across much of Montana on Tuesday, but storms are expected to be wet
given PW values over 1".  Elsewhere across the CONUS, relatively
moist conditions and light winds will temper the overall
fire-weather concerns.
