The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Northern Iowa
Southeast Minnesota
Western Wisconsin
* Effective this Saturday morning and evening from 1135 AM until
700 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Widespread damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
to 75 mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of storms will likely continue to intensify and
progress east-southeastward across the region through the afternoon,
with additional near-frontal development possible across southern
Minnesota/northern Iowa this afternoon.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles south
southwest of Minneapolis MN to 50 miles east southeast of La Crosse

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
