Day 1 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0734 PM CDT Thu Apr 14 2022

Valid 150100Z - 151200Z

...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF
THE MID ATLANTIC...

...SUMMARY...
Gusty winds and marginally severe hail may acco*pany a few storms
early this evening across parts of the Mid Atlantic.

...Mid Atlantic...

Surface pressures will continue to build across the central/southern
Appalachians in response to 500mb speed max translating across NY
into southern QC. As a result, surface front has progressed off the
NJ Coast trailing across southeast VA into the central Carolinas.
Scattered strong storms persist ahead of the wind shift,
concentrated primarily across southeast VA. 00z sounding from WAL
exhibited substantial buoyancy if lifting a parcel above the shallow
stable layer, likely adequate for robust convection continuing
along/ahead of the front.  This activity will gradually move
offshore over the next several hours with more isolated activity
expected to linger over the Carolinas. Even so, only gusty winds and
marginally severe hail can be expected with this convection.
