Mesoscale Discussion 1546
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0849 PM CDT Thu Jul 21 2022

Areas affected...central Mississippi

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 481...

Valid 220149Z - 220315Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 481
continues.

SUMMARY...Increasingly widespread thunderstorm development, with a
few strong to potentially damaging surface gusts, possible through
10-11 PM CDT.  It appears unlikely that a new severe weather watch
will be needed.

DISCUSSION...c*lliding outflow from convection focused along a weak
confluence zone may contribute to increasingly widespread
thunderstorm development during the next couple of hours, near/north
of the I-20 corridor.  Mixed-layer CAPE remains moderate to large,
and few potentially damaging wind gusts will remain possible until
outflow undercuts the stronger convection and it begins to
dissipate.
