Valid 191200Z - 201200Z

...Synopsis...
As the upper low over the northern Rockies moves quickly to the
east, northwesterly flow in its wake will linger over the northern
and central Rockies. To the west, the strong ridge over the
Southwest will rebound, weakening flow aloft over the Great Basin.
At the surface, a dry cold front will pass through the Rockies
enhancing downslope flow over the central High Plains.  With gusty
winds lingering within a dry and warm airmass, elevated to locally
critical conditions will be possible from the Great Basin to the
central High Plains.

...Central High Plains...
In the dry post-frontal airmass, gusty west/northwest winds should
support afternoon gusts to 15-25 mph from eastern Wyoming into
western Nebraska. Dry air and warm temperatures should support
afternoon relative humidity values below 20% across much of the
region further drying supportive fuels. While winds are forecast to
weaken through the day as strong flow aloft shifts eastward, a few
hours of elevated to locally critical conditions appear possible
through the afternoon and evening.

...Western Great Basin...
As the ridge rebuilds in the wake of the departing upper low, flow
aloft is forecast to weaken through much of the day. Lingering
zephyr winds off the Sierra in the warm and dry airmass may support
a few hours of locally elevated conditions near the higher terrain.
However, the lack of stronger surface flow suggests any fire weather
threat will likely remain local in nature.
