Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0208 AM CDT Mon Jun 27 2022

Valid 281200Z - 291200Z

...Synopsis...
Slight flattening of the upper ridge across the West is expected as
a mid-level trough overspreads the Pacific Northwest and approaches
the northern Rockies tomorrow/Tuesday. Strong upper support in
association with the mid-level trough will promote Elevated to
locally Critical surface winds/RH to the lee of the southern
Cascades/northern Sierra during the afternoon hours. By afternoon
peak heating, isolated to potentially scattered high-based
thunderstorms will likely develop across eastern parts of the Great
Basin. While the storms should be slow moving and potentially wet, a
few lightning strikes may occur away from precipitation cores into
potentially critically dry fuel beds, necessitating the introduction
of isolated dry thunderstorm highlights.
