The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Central and southwest Nebraska

* Effective this Thursday night from 655 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
    inches in diameter possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...c*nvection is expected to increase in coverage/intensity
this evening, with a few splitting supercells likely across central
and southwest Nebraska.  Large hail up to tennis ball size (2.5
inches in diameter) and isolated severe outflow gusts to 70 mph will
be the main threats.  An isolated tornado or two may occur with the
more robust right-moving supercells interacting with a north-south
frontal zone.  There will be some potential for upscale growth into
a cluster by late evening across southern Nebraska.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles northwest of
Broken Bow NE to 10 miles east of Mccook NE. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
