Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0148 AM CDT Sat Sep 10 2022

Valid 111200Z - 121200Z

...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

...Synopsis...
Along the northern periphery of an amplified large-scale ridge
centered over the western states, a belt of enhanced westerly
midlevel flow will cross the northern Rockies in MT. Here, downslope
warming/drying will result in 10-15 percent minimum RH coincident
with 10-15 mph sustained westerly surface winds. While elevated
fire-weather conditions will be possible (especially in the lee of
the Lewis Range), recent precipitation and limited recent fire
activity over this area cast uncertainty on fuel receptiveness --
precluding Elevated highlights. Elsewhere, a minimal overlap of
strong surface winds and low RH should generally limit fire-weather
concerns outside of terrain-favored areas along the Cascades.
