The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Northern Indiana
  Southwest and central Lower Michigan
  Northwest Ohio
  Lake Michigan

* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until
  800 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...A band of storms with embedded bowing segments will likely
continue eastward from northeast Illinois/southern Lake Michigan
into Lower Michigan and northern Indiana and eventually northwest
Ohio through late afternoon/evening.  Damaging gusts up to 70 mph
appear to be the main threat, though an isolated tornado or two
could occur with embedded circulations, and the strongest updrafts
may also produce marginally severe hail near 1 inch diameter.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles northeast of
Muskegon MI to 50 miles southwest of Fort Wayne IN. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
