NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0743 PM CDT Tue Apr 19 2022
Valid 200100Z - 201200Z
...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY...
General thunderstorms are expected across portions of the southern
Plains this evening and into the Ozarks and Midwest overnight.
...01z Update...
General thunderstorms are ongoing early this evening across parts of
eastern KS/OK and north TX. This activity will continue spreading
east/northeast into parts of MO/AR overnight amid moderate warm
advection and a strengthening low-level jet. Stronger low-level
moisture return is not expected until very late in the period, and
large-scale ascent will remain fairly weak. This will maintain
capping in the 850-700 mb layer, and overnight storms will continue
to be elevated. Modest shear and weak instability will further
preclude severe potential through early Wednesday morning.
Additional general thunderstorms will continue across the Florida
Keys and across parts of the northern Rockies for a few more hours
this evening. This activity also is not expected to be severe.
