Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0220 PM CDT Sun Aug 14 2022

Valid 151200Z - 161200Z

...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

...Central and southern Plains...
Very warm temperatures near 100F may develop ahead of a weak lee low
and cold front moving out of the Rockies Monday. Occasional wind
gusts to 15-20 mph may acco*pany the low ahead of the frontal
passage despite weak flow aloft. With diurnal RH minimums around
20%, the warm temperatures, dry area fuels and breezy winds may
support locally elevated fire weather conditions for a few hours.
Otherwise, no changes have been made to the current outlook.

...Synopsis...
An upper ridge will shunt westward a bit on Day 2/Monday co*pared to
Day 1, with weak surface cyclone development possible in the Plains
states, where some areas may experience beneficial rainfall. With
large-scale forcing remaining weak, overlapping dry and breezy
conditions should remain localized to terrain-favoring areas and at
Elevated thresholds from the Cascades into the northern Rockies and
perhaps parts of the central into the southern Plains.
