The Oscars are over, so Ariana Grande finally has a break from one of the most thorough press tours in recent memory. What else to do, then, but to start promoting some music? Grande shared on Instagram this morning that Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead, the long-teased deluxe edition of her 2024 album, is imminent after playing coy about when it might arrive on the Oscars red carpet. 

Grande confirmed that the deluxe album will be available on March 28, and acco*panied the announcement with an image of her being pulled into what looks like some sort of alien tractor beam. She also suppressed any urge to make some kind of “Defying Gravity” joke about it, so kudos to her for that. 

At the Oscars on March 2, Grande said that the music “must co*e out” but declined to say that it was co*ing “soon.” “Soon means 10 days or less. I’m not allowed to use that word in this moment,” she told Variety ahead of the ceremony. “Not today. You’re so naughty. Keep your eyes peeled.” If soon means “10 days or less” we may need a new euphemism for “less than one month but more than 10 days.” Imminent, perhaps? 

Regardless, new pop music from Grande is certainly welco*e. The singer already released the “slightly deluxe” version of the album last March, which featured remixed recordings of tracks from the original album. This edition, instead, is set to feature brand new songs. Of course, it won’t be long before Grande has a second Wicked movie to promote. This is a funny way to take a break, but you won’t find this writer co*plaining.
