Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 129

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Southwest to central Alabama
  Western Florida Panhandle
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 950 PM
  until 200 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Extensive QLCS should slow and weaken as it spreads
farther east overnight, but a threat for damaging winds and a brief
tornado will exist until it decays.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40
statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north of
Montgomery AL to 40 miles west southwest of Pensacola FL. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
