...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR PARTS OF EASTERN NV AND WESTERN
UT...

Confidence has increased in the potential for at least low-end
critical conditions across parts of eastern NV and western UT. The
latest guidance has trended slightly stronger with wind speeds
Saturday afternoon, and suggests the potential for several hours
with sustained winds of 20+ mph (with higher gusts) and RH below
15%. As a result, a critical area has been added with this update.
Surrounding the critical area, elevated to locally critical
conditions will be possible from parts of the Great Basin into
southeast ID and southwest WY.

...Synopsis...
Fire weather concerns will primarily reside across the Great Basin
for Saturday as a mid-level wave moves across the region.
Early-morning water-vapor imagery reveals a mid-level wave over the
eastern Pacific that will move onshore and across the Northwest
through the day Saturday. This will result in increasing mid-level
flow over the region that will be reflected at the surface in the
form of sustained winds between 15-20 mph with frequent wind gusts
of 25-30 mph. Antecedent hot/dry conditions will linger through
Saturday, resulting in another day of minimum RH values near 10%
(and possibly in the single digits for eastern NV) while also
maintaining receptive fuels. Winds are expected to be somewhat
stronger Saturday co*pared to previous days yielding a higher
potential for critical conditions. However, ensemble support for
widespread sustained 20+ mph winds remains modest and precludes an
upgrade at this time. However, trends will continue to be monitored
for the need for a Critical delineation across eastern NV/western
UT. Elevated conditions may develop into central WY, but fuels
across this region are not as receptive co*pared to locations
further to the southwest.
