...Synopsis...
As in Day 1, the overall weather pattern for the CONUS will remain
stationary, with an upper ridge situated over the Plains and a weak
mid-level trough remaining in place across the Interior West.
Surface lee troughing will persist across the Great Basin and
southern Plains. A more favorable overlap of Elevated winds, RH, and
receptive fuels across the Great Basin necessitates the introduction
of Elevated highlights. Meanwhile, dry and breezy conditions as well
as highly receptive fuels will be relatively less widespread across
the southern Plains, where fire weather highlights have been
withheld.
