The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Southeastern Montana
  Southwestern North Dakota
  Northwestern South Dakota

* Effective this Tuesday morning from 320 AM until 1100 AM MDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
    mph possible
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Widely scattered to scattered severe thunderstorms --
initially over southeastern MT in and near watch 433 -- will persist
in MT a few hours past its 10Z expiration time.  Meanwhile, some of
that activity should spread into the Dakotas, with additional
development possible elsewhere across the watch.  Severe gusts and
hail are expected.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles north and south of a line from 80 miles west southwest
of Miles City MT to 70 miles east southeast of Lemmon SD. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
