The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Southern and eastern South Dakota
* Effective this Monday morning from 1255 AM until 800 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...c**plexes of thunderstorms -- including a cluster
initially near and south of the Aberdeen area and a larger
bow/supercell merger south/southeast of Pierre -- may persist
several more hours farther east in a favorably moist and unstable
environment. Severe gusts and hail are the main concerns.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles west of
Chamberlain SD to 45 miles south of Watertown SD. For a co*plete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
