Day 2 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0140 AM CDT Sun Jun 26 2022

Valid 271200Z - 281200Z

...Synopsis...
While mid-level ridging will prevail overall across the western
CONUS, an embedded upper trough is poised to impinge on the West
Coast tomorrow. The surface mass response will be low pressure
development to the lee of the Cascades/Sierra, where westerly winds
may exceed 15 mph at times while coinciding with 15 percent RH.
Elevated highlights have been introduced since some of the latest
forecast fuel guidance suggest ERCs exceeding the 80th percentile,
indicative of modest receptiveness to wildfire spread. Meanwhile,
mid-level moisture will continue to meander over eastern portions of
the Great Basin towards the Four Corners. Isolated dry thunderstorm
highlights have been added where the northwestern periphery of the
mid-level moisture axis (and relatively drier storms) will overlap
the driest fuels.
