The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
North-central and northeastern Minnesota
* Effective this Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning from 545 PM
until 100 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph likely
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Two severe-weather episodes are possible this evening --
initially from a cluster now over northwestern MN and expected to
affect northern parts of the watch (including the Boundary Waters
area), then later this evening near its outflow boundary, farther
south and southwest. Severe gusts will be the main concern, but
isolated large hail also is possible.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles north and south of a line from 85 miles west of
Hibbing MN to 5 miles south of Ely MN. For a co*plete depiction of

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
