The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far west-central Minnesota
South-central North Dakota
Central to eastern South Dakota
* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 335 PM until
1100 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Widespread damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 90
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of long-tracked supercells over the Nebraska
Panhandle should evolve into an accelerating bow echo across central
to northeast South Dakota this evening.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 85
statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northeast
of Aberdeen SD to 45 miles south southwest of Chamberlain SD. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
